Principle of an acceleration sensor

An acceleration sensor detects speed changes of the sensor itself.
Various kinds of information including inclination, movement, vibration or shock can be obtained by processing measured values into electrical signals.
Today, its application is expanding to include installation in automobile airbags, game consoles, cell phones, and so on.

Noise cancelling technology' not influenced by unnecessary information (patented technology)

Data obtained from vehicle-mounted devices such as drive recorders had problems of recording shocks created when a vehicle runs on a bumpy road or the joints of a railroad crossing.
The noise-canceling technology of Driving Behavior Analysis Algorithm (DBAA) can remove unnecessary records from acceleration data and identify and record only the necessary scenes.

General detection method

  • The record signals are output at the moment when acceleration values in all directions, or composite acceleration values, exceed the threshold value.
  • The record signals are output when the recorded values keep on rising for a certain period after the value has exceeded the threshold value indicated above.

Optex determination method

Three-stage thresholds are set and trigger signals for recording are output in relation to the threshold values and their waveforms.
Whether the signals should be recorded or not is determined at the end of each event. With this system, sudden operation or sudden braking can be identified to record stable driving behavior.
