A

Automatic Door Sensor

Automatic door sensor is a general term for activating sensors to open/shut automatic doors and protective guiderail sensors to prevent anyone from being caught in doors close to the guiderails.

E

Entrance Sensor

It is a sensor installed at the entrance or doorway of a building.
The main type of entrance sensor is one for automatic doors but it includes a tailgating detection system.
Currently, the large majority of sensors used are infrared sensors, but it is expected in the future that an increasing number of CCD camera-mounted image sensors will be adopted in places where a high level of security is required.

Indoor Sensor

An indoor sensor is a motion detector installed on the ceiling or wall in a building in order to detect an intruder.
It is an energy-saving and long-life sensor as it is activated when it detects far-infrared rays emitted from the human body.
Today, its reliability has been enhanced as functions to detect sabotage have been mounted, and it is used as a major sensor in the current machine security system.
(Note: Optex markets microwave indoor sensors overseas, even though they are not available on the domestic market due to legal restrictions.)

Industrial Sensor

A General term for sensors used in manufacturing sites such as factories
Optex product lines include 'photoelectric sensors' to detect the existence of objects, 'measuring sensors' to measure the dimensions of objects, 'image sensors for industrial use' to inspect the color or contour of objects, the date of manufacture or lot numbers, and a 'radiometer' to measure surface temperature without contact.

Infrared Technology

Infrared rays are electromagnetic radiation with the range of wavelengths between 0.8 to 1,000µm closer to the ‘red’ edge of the visible spectrum with the longest wavelengths.
It is named infrared as it extends from the red edge of the visible spectrum.
Infrared technology is used in familiar objects such as TV remote controllers, heaters, and cooking devices.
Optex applies infrared rays to human/object detection sensors.

Light Protection

It is the method to deter and repel intruders by using light.
The Optex sensor light is a light protection product.

M

N

Non Contact Temperature Sensor

It can measure the surface temperature of objects in an instant without contact, by measuring the amount of infrared rays emitted from their surface.
Optex has released a variety of types of products to the market including handy types and mounting types, and they are being used in manufacturing plants of various industries around the world.

O

Outdoor Sensor

An outdoor sensor is installed outdoors, such as at the outer periphery of a building, in order to detect intruders.
The main types of indoor sensors are far-infrared sensors, the same type of indoor sensors, and near-infrared sensors whose light-receiving part receives near-infrared rays transmitted from its light-emitting part, an alarm sounding when near-infrared rays are intercepted between the light-emitting part and light-receiving part.
The detection zone covered by the near-infrared type is up to hundreds of meters from a building, while the main range of activating detection zone of far-infrared rays is within tens of meters.
(Note: Optex markets microwave indoor sensors overseas market, even though they are not available on the domestic market due to legal restrictions.)

Security Sensor

A security sensor is a sensor to detect intruders who enter a detection zone.
It can be categorized by application into indoor sensors and outdoor sensors.
Optex has a variety of product lines of security sensors to fit the installation site or environment.
Today Optex boasts top-class share and unit sales of security sensors in the world market.

Sensing Technology

It is technology to detect changes or differences in human/objects or temperature, etc.
Optex has developed various types of products applying the basic technology of 'infrared technology', 'microwave technology', 'image technology', etc.

Sensor

A general term for detectors
Currently, Optex's product lines include image sensors as well, with infrared sensors as a core product.

Sound Protection

It is a system to deter and repel intruders not only by light but by sound.
This system can deter intruders even during bright daytime.

T

Tailgating Detection System

It is a system to detect a person who tries to enter illegally without authorization by following a certified person who has passed through a personal identification device using his/her IC card or biometric identification.
An alarm has been raised that thorough entry management at offices is required as a number of information leakage cases have occurred recently. In order to prevent, monitor, and deter unauthorized entry, the introduction of tailgating detection system has become increasingly necessary together with personal identification devices.
